Course Overview
The GUE Open Water Diver course is a comprehensive five- to six-day program that combines classroom instruction, confined water sessions, and open water dives. Through at least ten aquatic sessions and six open water dives, you will build the skills and confidence needed to dive safely to a maximum depth of 70 ft/21 m without the supervision of a dive professional.

Course Details
- Prerequisites:
- Be a minimum of 12 years of age.
- Be physically and mentally fit.
- Be a non-smoker.
- Be able to swim.
- Obtain a physician’s prior written authorization for use of prescription drugs, except for birth control, or for any medical condition that may pose a risk while diving.
- Duration:
- Usually conducted over five to six days.
- Includes at least ten aquatic sessions (confined water sessions) and six open water dives.
- Requires at least 40 hours of instruction, encompassing classroom lectures, land drills, and in-water work.
- Equipment Requirements:
- Standard diving equipment, including mask, fins, regulator, BCD, and dive computer.
- GUE-standard equipment configuration is encouraged but not required for beginners.
- Certification: Upon successful completion, you will receive the GUE Open Water Diver certification, allowing you to dive with your team to a maximum depth of 70 ft/21 m without professional supervision.
